Engagement with local political issues is an important part of responsible citizenry. If you don’t make your voice heard at election time, you haven’t earned the right to speak out.

Here are three ways for you to register as a DC voter.
1. Fill out a
voter registration form online, and mail it in to the DC Board of Elections, One Judiciary Square, 441 4th Street, N.W., Suite 250 North
2. Register in person between at the District Board of Elections, located at One Judiciary Square, 441 4th Street, N.W., Suite 250 North
3. Register at an early voting center or
on election day at your precinct’s polling place. You can look up your precinct
here.
What to bring: a valid proof of DC residence, which can be one of the following- a copy of a current and valid government photo identification, a copy of a current utility bill (but not a cell phone bill), bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address.
Registration within 30 days of an election will allow you to vote with a provisional ballot (also called a special ballot). This ballot will be counted once your registration is processed. Mailed ballots must be postmarked 30 days prior to an election. Registration for party affiliation must occur 30 days prior to an election.
