WIN identifies, trains, and engages hundreds of DC leaders every year to take action on issues affecting their lives and communities.
We follow the Iron Rule: "Never do for others what they can do for themselves."
Trainers, not directors.
Member organizations and volunteer leaders do the work of WIN — the organizing, public negotiation, issue identification, strategy development, and decision-making. WIN's professional organizers are trainers, not directors.
Throughout the year, WIN leads multi-day training intensives as well as monthly skill building opportunities, led by our staff and by community partners to develop the leaders within our network and strengthen our connections with our neighbors. Each training contributes to the foundation of our work, building relationships for our shared work together.
