Nathan Brown

ORGANIZER

Nathan Brown (he/him) joined WIN in 2024 as an affordable housing champion and violence prevention coach, bringing 13 years of volunteer organizing experience and deep roots in Washington, DC. A native of Temple Courts—the housing development that was displaced in 2008—Nathan transformed his lived experience into leadership by co-leading efforts that secured the right to return for 211 former residents and 518 total affordable units.

Nathan’s work with WIN centers on racial equity and creating opportunity where it doesn’t exist. He believes that “when trauma strikes is when organizing begins,” and has made it his mission to turn personal experience into collective power. He is married with three children—Jade, Nathan Jr., and Mia—and spends his free time at his kids’ soccer and basketball games, playing spades and life with his family, and building community in his neighborhood.
